Elle présente les résultats du sondage sur les besoins de la

communauté française autour de l’ELT. Vous y trouverez également

l’annonce des premières Journées ELT-France, qui se dérouleront à

Lyon en 2027.

2. CFHT 2026B Call for proposals open

The 2026B CFHT call for proposals is now open and information is

available here:

The deadline is March 18 at 23h59 UT.

Please note that semester 2026B is the last semester during which WIRCam

and SITELLE are offered.

Some users may be interested in the fact that CFHT has joined AEON

(Astronomical Event Observatory Network). In 26B, PIs of accepted ToO

programs on MegaCam, SPIRou, or ESPaDOnS with fixed targets will be able

to submit standard ToO observations (submitted before 4 pm HST) using

programmatic tools provided by AEON. For 26B, support for moving targets

is not expected. This will come in a future release. Funding for

CFHT/Kealahou integration with AEON is provided by the National Science

Foundation (grant 2432266). For additional information, see

The French and Canadian communities are affected by a SAC recommendation

issued in December 2025 regarding the priority of the UNIONS+ Large

Program: "SAC recognizes the importance of completing the ongoing Large

Programs before 2027. SAC recommends prioritizing UNIONS+ over the C+F

PI programs for the 26A and 26B semesters."
